After attending Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, Japan where she gained her Bachelor of Music, Akiko Takahashi came to England in 1986. She has been awarded the Licentiate Diploma of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in voice performance and the Certificate of Teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in Piano.
Akiko spent 18 years teaching music at the Rikkyo School in England giving vocal training, establishing choirs and various ensembles and also teaching GCSE Music and IGCSE Music. She has been a guest soloist for Arts Festivals in Shropshire and a soloist with an international arts touring group in New Zealand and both Eastern and Western Australia. Her solo performances have also taken her to London, South East England and Wales. She was a co-founder of Piano Fun in London which specialised in group piano lessons. Akiko is a Music Mind Games Certified Teacher Trainer and provides workshops in the UK and Japan.
